What do we need in place before starting a Power BI project?
Agreement on the three decisions the first report must support, a list of the systems the data comes from, and someone in the business who will own the model afterwards. Our free Power BI readiness checklist walks through all of it.
Can Power BI connect to our accounts or ERP system?
Almost always. Power BI has connectors for Sage, Xero, Dynamics, SQL Server and hundreds of other systems, and we build the data model so refreshes happen automatically rather than by export. If a system has no connector we work from its database or an API.
What Power BI licences do we need?
Power BI Pro is included in Microsoft 365 E5 and costs a few pounds per user per month otherwise. Most businesses already own enough to start. We review your licences during the first call and only recommend more when the plan needs them.
Will we be able to maintain the reports ourselves?
Yes, and we design for it. The model has one agreed definition per measure, the workspace follows a simple naming convention, and we train the person who will own it. Many clients build their own reports on the model within a few months.
